Ear Lobe Reconstruction
Reconstruction of the ear lobe from stretched or torn piercings involves removing scar tissue and suturing the opening closed.
The process can take anywhere from 45minutes to 3 hours depending on the severity of the scarring and damage.
The result is a whole lobe, slightly smaller than before being damaged, with a small incision scar. The scar is usually not noticeable once fully healed, and the repaired lobe can be pierced if desired. Healing of the initial incision is about two weeks, and settling of the scar tissue can take upwards of 6 months to fade and become stable enough to pierce.
