This man knows his stuff and he's not afraid of a challenge. He's very educated in his industry, and incredibly talented with anything he does whether it be piercings/mods or tattoos. You're in the best of hands at 13 Black Cats 🙂 |

Whether it be an original peice, a touch up, or a cover up, I couldn't be happier with both, the work that he has done and his professionalism/knowledge...I would Highly recommend Dylan. For me, it was worth the hour and a half drive rather then to go to the shop we have in town |

They got to watch Chuck chicken on TV while getting their piercing done. Very professional but also, kid friendly. Personalized jewelry options were lovely as well. I'll be returning for my own piercings! |

The artists
Dylan RiverdaleTattoo Artist, Piercer, and Body Modification Artist
Dylan has been immersed in the body art industry since 1998, beginning his journey as a professional piercer. Alongside developing his craft, he also pursued a career as a competitive boxer. Guided by his grandfather and coach, Dylan achieved major milestones including the National U23 Elite Bantamweight Championship and multiple Provincial Golden Gloves titles in the Light-Heavyweight and Cruiserweight divisions. After his grandfather’s passing, he retired from the sport and turned his focus to new pursuits. His love of mechanics and precision led him to study Aircraft Maintenance Engineering and Avionics Engineering, earning both certifications by 2006. While this education satisfied his passion for aircraft, Dylan still felt something was missing. Raised in an artistic family, Dylan was inspired early on by his grandmother, an art teacher and contributor to a First Nations exhibition at the Museum of Human History. Her influence nurtured his creative instincts and sharpened his eye for detail. That foundation eventually drew him back to the arts. In 2009, Dylan began a tattoo apprenticeship and soon discovered his true calling. Since then, he has dedicated himself full-time to tattooing, combining technical skill with artistic vision to create meaningful, custom designs. Known for his approachable, collaborative nature, Dylan excels at bringing even the simplest ideas to life—transforming them into permanent works of art that reflect each client’s individuality. |
Lulu RiverdaleManager, Laser Technician, Piercing Apprentice
Lulu is the brains of the operation at 13 Black Cats Studio. Every tattoo artist needs a strong support system, and she ensures the business side of the studio runs seamlessly. With a mind wired for numbers and patterns, Lulu was instrumental in restructuring 13 Black Cats Studio from a commercial corporation into a private business. This shift reduced overhead costs—savings that are passed directly to clients—allowing the studio to adopt a more eco-conscious model without increasing prices, even amid rising material costs. In addition to her business expertise, Lulu is the studio’s laser technician. She operates both the IPL laser for hair removal and the Picosure (PicoSecond) laser for tattoo removal. She also provides advanced RF (Radio Frequency) treatments for skin tightening, cellulite reduction, and scar tissue repair, drawing on her strong background in anatomy, physiology, and mathematics to deliver precise, effective results. Lulu is currently apprenticing as a full-body piercer, ensuring that clients have the option of a skilled female practitioner for more intimate piercings. OUR COMMITMENT TO MAKING TATTOOING MORE ECO-FRIENDLY
The amount of single use plastic products used in the tattoo industry weighed heavily on our conscience.
In order to do our part in keeping plastic out of landfills, we have replaced many of our single use plastic sundries with compostable alternatives, including:
-Compostable Surface Barrier Film (Cling Wrap)
-Compostable Bed Liners
-Paper Pulp or Wheat Straw Fiber Ink Cups (the small cups that tattoo pigments are poured into)
-Biodegradable Single Use Razors
-EBT Nitrile Gloves (Biodegradable in 1 to 5 years)
Even the plastic casing for our tattoo needle cartridges are made from corn-based plastic! Meaning they do not emit any fumes or gasses when incinerated; the by products of this process are simply carbon dioxide and water. Despite the costs of these products being 3 to 10 times that of their traditional plastic counterparts, we have not let our decision to use them impact the cost to our clients and have chosen to absorb the costs into our operations' bottom line.
We felt that the decision to make an eco-conscious choice should not be influenced by affordability nor cost to our clients.
